There are limited campsites along the Mad river due to its proximity to urban centers. The available campsites include:

MAD RIVER COUNTY PARK
Location: Take the Janes Road/Guintoli Lane exit off 101 just north of the 299 interchange.
Turn west and follow signs reading "BEACH ACCESS" for about 7 miles
Facilities: Boat Launch, Bathrooms, Picnicking, Beach Access
Fee: No Fee - DAY USE ONLY!!

MAD RIVER-SIX RIVERS NATIONAL FOREST
Location: From the town of Mad River, drive 5 miles southeast on lower Mad River Rd
This campground is located at the headwaters of the Mad river,
two miles north of where it pours into Ruth Lake.
Facilities: 40 campsites, a few for motor homes up to 22 feet
Fee: $5/night; Reservations are not accepted.

NOTE: THIS SECTION OF THE MAD IS CLOSED TO WINTER FISHING!!

Location: From Eureka take Hwy 255, across Samoa Bridge
Five miles south on New Navy Base Road
Facilities: Boat Launch; Clamming; Camping; Ocean Fishing; Beach Access
